Abstract

This study focused on strategy implementation and its effect on superior performance and competitive advantage of SMEs in Kogi State. Based on the nature of the study, survey research method was used. The study focused on selected SMEs with random population of 1886. The study adopted convenience sampling technique. The sample size (330) was determined through Taro Yamane method. The study analyzed data using descriptive statistics and regression model. It was found that strategy implementation of SMEs has significant effect on superior performance relative to other competitors in Kogi State. The study concluded that when strategy is successfully implemented, it has consequences on organizational performance. The study therefore recommends that SME owners should ensure the successful implementation of their business strategy to outperform other competitors within the same business environment in Kogi State, Nigeria.
